Crizia Restaurante is an avantgarde restaurant set in the Bohemian Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, the result of signature cuisine blended with fresh seasonal Argentinean ingredients. Founded in 2004, the restaurant has developed along a path of discovery and, in its current location, represents the perfect blend of modern design with open spaces, accented by an impressive wine cellar right at the heart of the venue.
Chef Gabriel Oggero helms Crizia and wholeheartedly believes in seasonal products from all over Argentina, prepared by artisans. Loving fire and grilling very much, his cuisine reflects accents of land and sea-mostly artisanal fishing and the treasures of the Argentine coasts. Oggero's commitment to showcasing regional products probably finds its epitome in his work with Patagonian oysters, of which he has become one of the leading figures for this delicacy.
Self-taught but rather entwined with the world of gastronomy since his childhood, Oggero began his life in the kitchen within his family's catering business, El Ciervo de Oro. With time, he refined his technique with trips and work alongside other famous chefs worldwide, while still holding tight to the richness of Argentine gastronomic heritage. His efforts at Crizia have earned the restaurant numerous accolades and a reputation for pushing the boundaries of Argentine gastronomy.
Gabriel Oggero also takes part in A.C.E.L.G.A., a team of great chefs and gastronomic entrepreneurs. He is one of the founders of the well-known MASTICAR Fair. The cooperation with local producers will guarantee, as it has indeed happened up to now, that fresh, high-quality ingredients remain the core of the culinary philosophy at Crizia.
The atmosphere and sensorial dimension of Crizia are jointly balanced by Geri Gastaldo, adding a touch of class to the restaurant's design, art, and tableware. Her attention to every single detail adds to the dimension of the place-as if everything is carefully thought through in relation to the guest experience. Drawing upon experiences of shared travels with Oggero, she brings fresh ideas to incorporate into the constantly changing identity of Crizia.
Another venture that Geri Gastaldo has invested in is the brand named JUNE. It commenced in the year 2020, reinventing Jewish cuisine classic dishes, a tradition she engaged with through her family business entitled El Ciervo de Oro. This new venture, created together with Oggero, seeks the restoration and modernization of this culinary art, offering new views to traditional heritage dishes.
Jointly, Gabriel Oggero and Geri Gastaldo turned Crizia into a restaurant-a place where not only does one find a tasting of Argentine cuisine but also contributes to its development in a continuous way. Its obsessive concern with quality, in addition to respect for tradition combined with innovation, allowed Crizia to be outstanding in the gourmand scene of Buenos Aires.
