Situated in São Paulo, Brazil, Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos Associados was established in 1987 by Henrique Reinach and Mauricio Mendonça. Having used shape, light, and comfort as the core driving forces for their buildings, the architects handled fenestration and gaps skillfully to allow sunlight and temperature control. Current designs of the firm use circulation and outdoor space to provide an invitation to users.
The firm has received many awards, among them, the first prize in the category of Young Architects by IAB/SP in 1993. Their work has also been exposed to several important exhibitions, among them, the Second International Biennial of Architecture in São Paulo and the International Biennial of Quito. They have also lectured at the Buenos Aires Biennial and won awards at the Architecture Biennial of Brasília.
The projects that Reinach Mendonça has led have been highlighted in international publications such as Abitare, Architectural Digest, and "1000x Architecture of the Americas." In 2012, the firm won the Office Architecture and Multiple Residence Architecture categories at the International Property Awards in London.
Henrique Reinach, born São Paulo in 1957, and Mauricio Mendonça, born Lucélia in 1957, graduated from FAU-USP. Their careers began with very important projects, and the firm was founded to provide high-quality architectonical solutions.
Since 2001, Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos has been operating from its self-designed headquarters, an award-winning building in São Paulo. In 2012, the office won in both categories—Office Architecture and Multiple Residence Architecture—at the International Property Awards in London, UK.
Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos Associados continues to supply innovative and high-quality solutions in the area of architecture, aiming to create comfortable, nice-looking, and functional spaces.
