Founded in 1988 by Alfredo Ginocchio, Galería Alfredo Ginocchio is one of the most prominent international galleries dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of Mexican and Latin American artists. Formerly known as Praxis México, it was renamed in 2008 and has participated in over 47 art fairs held in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. It has also had over 130 individual and group exhibitions in Mexico City, played a key role in the forming of art collections, and collaborated with important museums.
Galería Alfredo Ginocchio is particularly focused on neo-figuration, modern, and contemporary art. Among many others, the gallery represents an outstanding group of artists that includes Santiago Carbonell, Roberto Cortázar, Bruno Widmann, and Roger Mantegani. These are renowned artists whose works are very often exposed in this gallery and are recognized contributors to the artistic field.
Apart from the already established names, Galería Alfredo Ginocchio gives support to rising talent. The gallery makes a new generation of artists known to the public, among whom are Ofill Echevarría, Graciela Fuentes, Antonio Luquín, Claudio Gallina, Carlos Oviedo, César Rangel, Hugo Lugo, Ale de la Puente, and Francisco Valverde. With this heterogeneous and dynamic group of artists, it has come to play a leading role in giving shape to the new profile that Latin American art is currently developing.
