Timeless, pioneering, and elegant, Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is the most iconic winter hotel in St. Moritz. Situated directly opposite Lake St. Moritz in one of the Engadin's most beautiful mountain retreats, this historic grand hotel has exuded an aura of excellence for decades. Starting with a first step across the threshold, guests know they are at home; perfect service and attention to detail see to that.
Winter tourism was inaugurated when Johannes Badrutt and his wife rented Pension Faller, today's Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, back in the year 1855. From here, many extensions have happened to the hotel before eventually turning into a palace, which has been developed further ever since.
Kulm Hotel St. Moritz enjoys an outstanding reputation, with more than 165 years of Swiss hospitality. Founded by Hotelier Johannes Badrutt, St. Moritz and Kulm Hotel became the most-renowned places in the Swiss Alps during the 19th century. History was made with the legendary wager in 1864, in which Badrutt would invite four English guests to experience the winter idyll of St. Moritz. He won the bet, and winter tourism was born, as were summer visitors from England and winter sports like skibobbing, skeleton bobsled, and cresta. The hotel went on to host the Winter Olympic Games in 1928 and 1948 and still houses the historic St. Moritz Tobogganing Club and Cresta Club.
Each luxury suite at Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is individually designed and attests to great attention to detail, along with the finest upholstery and materials. The suites promise the maximum possible delight and comfort to their guests for a sojourn worth remembering. The Kulm Hotel has a long-standing tradition in rich and varied cuisine, from regional Engadin specialties to international haute cuisine.
The luxurious 2000m² Kulm Spa St. Moritz is a haven of relaxation, comfort, and harmony. Fine pine wood fragrances and unique views over Lake St. Moritz accompany the treatments in which natural products are combined with high-tech active ingredients. The spa offers the following three-pillar wellness concept: relax, detox, and regenerate.
The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz combines tradition, luxury, and modern comfort. Guests are offered a full line of different sports and activities during the day and jazz concerts or stylish parties in the evening. As the first hotel in the Alps offering winter holidays with luxury hospitality, Kulm Hotel still continues to uphold its reputation for excellence.
